The Easter Jeep Safari is the most well known recreational four wheeling event, with people traveling from all over the country and even abroad to drive through the terrain around Moab. This nine day event occurs the week of and including Easter Sunday. A wide variety of trails are planned out for a variety of fun off-roading. The surrounding area of Moab is great for runners looking for a challenge. The Canyonlands Half Marathon is a tradition that goes back to 1976, and happens every year in May. The trail follows the Colorado River and runs through beautiful canyons and into downtown Moab. The Other Half Marathon takes place in the fall and finishes at the Sorrel River Ranch Resort with free post-race brews from the local microbrewery.
